Established in 1964, Honda Marine has become a leading player in nautical engineering. Over more than 45 years, it has developed an extensive range of 4-stroke outboard engines.

Given the values of Honda’s founder, who always placed great importance on initiative and respect for the individual and the environment that surrounds him, it comes as no surprise that Honda Marine has chosen to offer its support to the La Boudeuse crew.

Honda Marine became one of the very first partners of La Boudeuse, when, for the 2004 expedition, it supplied the crew with three 25-50 horsepower outboard engines to help them along on their journey. In this crew, who are taking on the challenge of sailing around the world in a three-masted schooner, Honda Marine recognises the spirit of initiative on which the strength and reputation of the Honda brand was built. Honda’s famous slogan, “The Power of Dreams”, is a perfect match with the spirit that is the driving force behind La Boudeuse.

As well as the challenge that this epic journey represents, the human exploration aspect of this type of expedition, which focuses on the search for unknown and/or forgotten peoples, is something that is very close Honda Marine’s heart. Honda Marine is proud to be associated with La Boudeuse and to have helped to spread the universal humanistic values that the brand holds dear: sharing and respect for the individual, around the world.

Ultimately, Honda Marine wanted to promote an ecological and sustainable expedition such as the Terre-Océan mission of La Boudeuse and provide the necessary means for it to run smoothly, whilst bearing in mind an oft-repeated phrase of Soishiro Honda: “It doesn’t matter what you navigate with as long as it doesn’t pollute the water.”

Drawing on the experience it has gained over the last few years, Honda Marine is taking part in the expedition alongside La Boudeuse, and has once again provided the necessary means to make this mission a total success by providing three 25-40 horse power outboard motors.
